We as the people of Daybreak Community Church have committed together to pursue a biblical way of life that is summed up in four shared values, which we call “Directions”. The Directions support our mission to join God in His loving pursuit of people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We encourage you to explore all four of the Directions and hope that this will lead you to join and participate in the mission of Daybreak Community Church.
DIRECTIONS
LIVING COMMUNITY
Jesus did not live alone. Neither should we. We believe that we were created to live deeply with one another, sharing each other's burdens, sharing our possessions, praying for and confessing our sins to one another, and suffering and celebrating together. As we throw ourselves into these honest and loving relationships, God transforms us and we become the people God meant for us to be. We prove to the world that God loves each and every human being created in His image when we truly love one another. We believe this living community is experienced as we both celebrate large group gatherings and in small group relationships. We are not created to live alone. We live in community.
LIVING SERVANTS
We were created to live for something larger than ourselves. Jesus is our living example of a living servant. All we are and all we have are fully surrendered to God. We surrender our time, talent, and treasure for the sake of the church and for the sake of the mission in exchange for eternal treasure stored up in heaven. We take great joy in partnering with God to change the world with whatever we possess. We let our lives tell the good news of life with God, by doing the good works of God, so the world will glorify God. We are Living Servants.
LIVING MERCY
We believe that the communities in which we live should be better places to live because the church is living out mercy. Through acts of service, sacrifice, love, and compassion, we prove we care about the things God cares about. This mercy is extended through the intentional living of our personal lives, in personal relationships, with people who are spiritually lost and broken by sin in order to have the opportunity to share the life changing message of Jesus. We are people living out mercy.
LIVING MISSIONARIES
We believe that every follower of Jesus is called to be a missionary to the people God has placed in their lives. The people of God have been given a mission to spread the good news about Jesus so that people can be set free from sin and brokenness to live how God created and intended for them to live. As we make ourselves available to God and allow Him to lead us on the mission, we believe His Holy Spirit will send us to neighborhoods, parks, work places, hobby groups, sports teams, grocery stores, and even around the world to accomplish the mission Jesus has given us. We are living missionaries.
